Richard J. “Rick” Dreiling, 57 of Richmond died unexpectedly Tuesday May 29, 2007. He was born in Ellis County, Kansas on August 3, 1949 to Richard A. and Zita Schmidt Dreiling. He was formerly employed for the S. Abraham & Sons Co. and had also worked at Target in the receiving dept. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving as a Black horse Trooper in the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment 3rd Platoon, How Battery, and was the first unit into Cambodia. He attended Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, and was a former member of the Noblesville, IN VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Betty Cooper Hosenfeld Dreiling, who he married June 10, 2001. Daughters; Amy (Jose’) Garcia of San Antonio, TX, Nichole (Shawn) McCoy of Eaton, OH, and Lacey Hosenfeld-Dreiling at home. Grandchildren; Jasmine Paige Henry of San Antonio, TX, Gavin Caine & Brayden Parker McCoy both of Eaton, OH, and Chloe Nichole Massingale of Richmond. His mother Zita Schmidt Dreiling of Hays, Kansas, brothers; Howard Dreiling (Vera) of Arlinton, Tx, Duane Dreiling (Debbie) of Olathe, Kansas, sisters; Shirley Dreiling of Hays, Kansas and Linda Haas (Fred) of Des Moines, Iowa. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Richard who died May 3, 1993.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 1, 2007 at 2:00PM at Community Family Funeral Home, 101 West Main St. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
