Phyllis Laverne Ogle-Satterfield

Phyllis Laverne Ogle Satterfield, 75, departed this life on December. 7, 2012, very peacefully surrounded by family. She was born May 22, 1937 in Richmond, Indiana, to Dave Sr. and Emma Grace Ogle.

She graduated from Richmond Senior High in 1956 and completed her A.A.S. Degree from Indiana School of Technology. She was employed for 25 years at Indiana American Water Works in the Data Processing and Billing department. She took an early retirement to care for her sick father. She was an active member in the local chapter of the "Red Hatter" until she became ill. She was also very active being a full-time grandmother to many kids, wearing her title known to all as Mamal. Phyllis was also employed for 12 years at Dunn Mental Health Center where she helped change the lives of many.

Phyllis leaves behind two daughters: Marilyn Moore of Indianapolis and Michelle of Richmond; one son: Phillip of Richmond; her truly loving grandkids: Tyneshia (Jack) Williams, Cleo Carpenter, Tyshawna Carpenter, Jacob Moore, Ryan (Tara) Olinger, Evin Satterfield, Alana Satterfield; great grandkids: Devonte, Tytiana Kennedy, Donavon, Gage and Gianani Carpenter, Nichelle, Nick and Tylana Carpenter, Jake Jr. and JoeJoe Moore, McKinsey and Kendal Olinger; and she also leaves behind many caring and loving family, friends, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Dave and Emma Ogle; her husband Billy Gene of 35 years; six brothers: James, David, Robert, Sylvester, Bronston, Gusie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Bethel A.M.E. Church 220 South 6th Street Richmond, Indiana with Pastor Horne and Rev. Martel Winburn officiating. Community Family Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Independent Living Center 1818 West Main Street Richmond, Indiana 47374.
